2012 Hedges Family Estate Red Mountain Red Blend 750ml Wine
Manufacturer: Hedges Family Estate Brand: Hedges Family Estate
2012 was another excellent and more normal vintage in Washington State, a welcome change after the cooler and wetter 2010 and 2011 vintages. The La Nina current brought warmer and more even spring and summer temperatures and an extended warm, dry autumn with perfect 80 to 85 Fahrenheit afternoon highs and 40 to 50 Fahrenheit lows without rain. The result was great set that yielded ripe, disease free fruit with good natural acidity. The resulting wines reflect the excellent qualities of the fruit and are a pleasure to drink. Probably one of the top 5 vintages Ive been associated with in Washington State.
Cameron Hughes Lot 608 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 750mL
Manufacturer: Cameron Hughes Wine Brand: Cameron Hughes
As the list faithful well know, we have been producing wine from Stagecoach Vineyard for many years now, primarily sourcing from the legendary M-Block. The robust harvests of 2012 and 2013 gave us an opportunity in 2014 to also get our hands on Cabernet from the equally prestigious L-Block just next door. Planted to the long-time workhorse of Napa Valley, Clone 7 Cabernet, Stagecoach L-Block's combination of altitude and lean volcanic soil produces richly fruited, yet powerfully structured wines. Considering one of Napa's most famous names makes a Cabernet from this same block that sells for $150+/bottle, I think it's safe to say this is absolutely classic Napa Valley Cabernet at an incredible price.
2014 Dry Creek Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley 750 mL Wine
Manufacturer: Dry Creek Vineyard Brand: Dry Creek Vineyard
First coined by founder David Stare in 1987, the term "Old Vine" has special meaning to our winery. Although there is no legal definition, we define an old vine vineyard as having vines that average more than 50 years in age. In the case of our Old Vine Zinfandel, the vines are more than 95 years in age and in some cases, more than 110 years old! Old Vine Zinfandel vineyards remain the most prized and historic of all plantings in the Dry Creek Valley. An extremely dry winter began the 2014 growing season, giving us year number three of the drought.Unusually warm days in January and February were cause for concern. However, rain came in March and April at just the right time to recharge the ground water for the early growing season. Warm dry weather extended into summer, with very few heat spikes and ideal growing conditions. Harvest came fast and early with ripe flavors at sugar levels lower than normal. The fruit tasted beautiful as it came into the winery. Harvest finished earlier than normal and in December 2014, the winery had almost 20 inches of rain in two weeks - a welcome relief for the dry vineyards!

2011 Baer Winery "Callisto" Stillwater Creek Vineyard Bordeaux Style Red Blend 750 ml
Manufacturer: Baer Winery Brand: Baer Winery
We've refined this evolving blend with the addition of Syrah and are happy with the results. The wine is big, expressive, and firm in structure without being overly tannic. A cool season in the vineyard has resulted in a smooth, dark, and concentrated blend with a rich fresh fruit character.
2011 Uproot Wines Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 750 mL Wine
Manufacturer: Uproot Wines Brand: Uproot Wines
2011 started with a summer that didn't get quite as hot as cabernet fruit likes, followed by some good downpours during harvest, which can lead to rot. So we went to Howell Mountain in St. Helena, where two ideal blocks on a rocky hillside gave us the warm weather conditions and drainage we needed for great fruit. We aged it in 65% new oak to give it just the right amount of smoky flavors. And got an excellent vintage in spite of-or maybe even thanks to-the weather.
