First coined by founder David Stare in 1987, the term "Old Vine" has special meaning to our winery. Although there is no legal definition, we define an old vine vineyard as having vines that average more than 50 years in age. In the case of our Old Vine Zinfandel, the vines are more than 95 years in age and in some cases, more than 110 years old! Old Vine Zinfandel vineyards remain the most prized and historic of all plantings in the Dry Creek Valley. An extremely dry winter began the 2014 growing season, giving us year number three of the drought.Unusually warm days in January and February were cause for concern. However, rain came in March and April at just the right time to recharge the ground water for the early growing season. Warm dry weather extended into summer, with very few heat spikes and ideal growing conditions. Harvest came fast and early with ripe flavors at sugar levels lower than normal. The fruit tasted beautiful as it came into the winery. Harvest finished earlier than normal and in December 2014, the winery had almost 20 inches of rain in two weeks - a welcome relief for the dry vineyards!

2011 Uproot Wines Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 750 mL Wine
Manufacturer: Uproot Wines
Brand: Uproot Wines
2011 started with a summer that didn't get quite as hot as cabernet fruit likes, followed by some good downpours during harvest, which can lead to rot. So we went to Howell Mountain in St. Helena, where two ideal blocks on a rocky hillside gave us the warm weather conditions and drainage we needed for great fruit. We aged it in 65% new oak to give it just the right amount of smoky flavors. And got an excellent vintage in spite of-or maybe even thanks to-the weather.
2014 Mossback Chalk Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 750 mL Wine
Manufacturer: Matchbook Wine Company
The cabernet sauvignon grapes were hand harvested in 1â„2 ton bins then destemmed and crushed into small stainless steel fermenters. The must was chilled to 55 degrees for 24 hours for its "cold soak" to enhance the berry aromas, and the juice was bled from the tank to concentrate flavors. During fermentation, we pumped over the wine twice a day to enhance color stability and aromas. 10% of the crushed fruit was fermented in French oak barrels to further intensify color and flavor. Both lots were pressed off at dryness then aged 22 months in French, Hungarian and American oak barrels. The final blend contains 25% merlot to enhance smoothness and increase the velvety structure.
2014 Naked Winery "DIVA" Columbia Valley Washington Sangiovese 750 mL
Manufacturer: Naked Winery
Brand: Naked Winery
A warm spring and summer with no heat spikes produced an early vintage and we were blessed with no significant rain at harvest. There was little to no disease pressure and alcohol levels remained moderate allowing for flourishing intense flavors. In the end, we think this will go down as a great year for Washington wine.

"The 2013 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard is pure class. Rich, seamless and inviting, yet with vibrant beams of salinity and tannin beneath, the 2013 stands out because of its impeccable balance. Nothing is out of place. Cool-climate peppery, gamy notes add an attractive upper-register. Lavender, violets and inky blue/purplish fruit are infused into the layered, vivid finish. With time in the glass, the 2013 develops a super-appealing feel of vertical structure. The 2013 is very young. It is also very beautiful." 95 Vinous A.Galloni
