2009 Volta Cabernet Sauvignon Mission Ridge Napa Valley 750 mL
Manufacturer: Volta Wine
Abundant spring rains abated winter drought concerns and a relatively temperate growing season produced ideal growing conditions and excellent fruit quality. Our winemaking team found 2009 to be a terrific harvest. The grapes came in without a rush, ripened thoroughly and showed good fruit quality. We were excited about the wine’s intensity and clarity of flavors, aromas, acids and tannins.
Farmed sustainably from estate vineyards in the Napa Valley, Tess is the perfect wine to open on warm summer nights, winter gatherings around the fireplace, weekend brunches & spontaneous gatherings! Winemaker Notes Tess is a unique blend of 85% red and 15% white varietals. Comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon; Merlot; Zinfandel; Cabernet Franc; Sauvignon Blanc; Chardonnay; Petit Verdot.
For the new collection, we sought a New World winemaking partner skilled in blending time-honored winemaking practices with new world innovation. Our search led us to a multigenerational, family-owned winery in Lodi, California (one of the state’s most historic winegrowing regions). Here, Winemaker Karen Birmingham sources exceptional fruit from sustainably-farmed, estate-grown vineyards, and brings classic techniques plus state of the art winemaking to the table. The resulting wines are fruit forward, varietally expressive and imminently quaffable.
m and dry weather followed the previous year's late April freeze gave this vintage a much greater concentration of flavor layers. Will cellar very well. At Westbrook Wine Farm, we literally "make" our wine in the vineyard. In our Fait Accompli Vineyard, we grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenère. We work all year to assure that all six varieties will mature at the same time, so they may be harvested together (not all grapes mature with the same sugar content). Conventional growers may tell you this cannot be done. With an open mind, however, and management efforts concentrated toward that end result, it most certainly can be done.
