The 2012 vintage tracked as a wonderful year across all Washington state AVAs and was significantly warmer than the previous two years. The vintage was consistent in ripening without dramatic heat spikes which can cause undue stress on berry development. Color developed earlier in the growing season allowing for full tannins to mature in the reds as well as moderate alcohols and balanced acidity in both the whites and reds.
Grapes pressed whole cluster and fermented in 100% French oak barrels utilizing 30% new/70% used oak. Aged for nine months. The wine was stirred once every two weeks until one month prior to bottling. Analysis: Alcohol 14.3% Acidity 6.1 gr/L pH 3.8
