2015 was the hottest year on record and began with a moderate winter that lead into a warm spring and a very hot summer. The warm spring resulted an early bloom, which caused veraison to occur two to three works earlier than normal, and harvesting to begin well ahead of normal--three weeks, in fact. The heat wave began to taper towards the end of August, which allowed for the warm days and cool nights to settle in--producing beautiful fruit quality with good acid and perfect flavor development.
