In summary, 2007 is a fantastic white vintage and a surprisingly good red vintage, despite a cool growing season and the final rains that many times might lead to less intense wines. Most winemakers in the Willamette Valley knew how to adapt to the cooler weather and took advantage of the vintage's attributes, such as lower sugars (and therefore alcohols) and higher acids. Because of the exciting influence of vintage in a cool climate like ours, you’ll see nuance differences among all our wines. Expect ripeness but with a crisp, bright, fruit edge of minerality from higher acids and the cooler growing season. The vintage will have stellar wines, with a great range of styles. Buy whites in general, buy reds from trusted names.

2011 North by Northwest Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Manufacturer: King Estate Winery
Brand: North by Northwest , (NxNW)
A cool summer with average moisture levels gave way to one of the latest harvests on record. For the first time in more than a decade, the region experienced no 100-degree days. Fruit was able to ripen steadily and evenly without extreme temperature spikes, though events throughout the entire season remained about 3 weeks behind what is considered average for the area. While this kind of cool, prolonged growing season requires precise execution on the part of the grower, it can produce wines with excellent aging potential, due in part to a lower pH and higher acidity of the fruit. The 2011 growing season allowed grapes more time than usual on the vine which contributed to layered flavors with natural balance.
2012 Robert Mondavi Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Napa Valley 750 mL Wine
Manufacturer: Robert Mondavi Winery
Brand: ROBERT MONDAVI WINERY
Following two cooler and wetter growing seasons, the 2012 vintage was "a walk in the park", says Vineyard Manager, Matt Ashby. A dry winter led to well-timed rain in March which saturated the soils and helped fill the reservoirs. The region's combination of warm days and cool nights endured through the growing season creating the perfect recipe for long, flavor-building hang time and optimal sugar to acid balance. We harvested our select Oakville cabernet sauvignon grapes for this wine between October 8th and October 26th.
