The 2006 vintage Cabernet Reserve has stunning grace and elegance. A long and cool growing season, punctuated with a heat spike in the late summer, allowed the fruit to hang well into October to deliver a wine with an unparalleled balance of ripe fruit and acid worthy of cellaring for the ages. Delicious, pure, and rich with cassis, plum and blackberry mixed with violets, mineral, and tobacco enveloped by ultra-refined tannins of tremendous length and power.

2010 Volta Cabernet Sauvignon Mission Ridge Napa Valley 750 mL
Manufacturer: Volta Wine
2010 was another ideal growing season in the micro-climate that is Mission Ridge Vineyard (despite challenges in the rest of Napa Valley). The summer was warm and dry and harvest extended deep into October. Our 2010 Volta Cabernet Sauvignon is another great expression of what our beautiful vineyard and this unique vintage have to offer.
The vintage was marked by low yields but, ultimately, moderate temperatures during harvest (following an earlier heat spike) allowed optimum hang time and outstanding quality with balance and structure. Currant, black licorice, tobacco and graphite are followed by sexy cedary oak notes. Seamless and opulent across the palate with creamy yet vibrant dark fruit flavors with a long, lingering finish.
Sometimes doing it right means doing it the hard way. We trucked in the best Grenache grapes we could find from Santa Ynez Valley in SoCal. Then, instead of using machines (the easy way), we treated the fruit with the respect it deserves and meticulously punched it down by hand (the pain in the ass way). We gave it a double dose of oak invigoration by processing it straight into 100% new French oak puncheons and aging it there. To finish, we blended the Grenache with 5% of Petit Verdot for extra structure and a deeper color.
Boldly expressive of rich character, True Grit RESERVE wines are the product of very selective fruit sourcing and hands-on winemaking. Each vintage gives the full range of expression for a fearlessly distinct wine.
2014 Naked Winery "Penetration" Columbia Valley Washington Cabernet Sauvignon 750 mL
Manufacturer: Naked Winery
Brand: Naked Winery
A warm spring and summer with no heat spikes produced an early vintage and we were blessed with no significant rain at harvest. There was little to no disease pressure and alcohol levels remained moderate allowing for flourishing intense flavors. In the end, we think this will go down as a great year for Washington wine.
